Most motorists will agree that Lexus is a brand with premium vehicles and luxury car experiences. Thanks to the high quality, these cars also have an environmentally friendly look. So you can be sure that this brand of car is an excellent option for long and enjoyable trips.

For people who seem skeptical that Lexus is a good brand, note that they seem very reliable. So a Lexus vehicle offers great value for money, whether it’s a new car or a used car in good condition.

A brief history of the Lexus car

The Lexus car brand was born at a time when Honda and Nissan introduced their premium brands; Acura and Infiniti cars. After Toyota’s Flagship One (F1) project in 1983, the company seemed to focus on designing and manufacturing the best cars in the world.

Note that the project, conceived by Toyota president Eiji Toyoda, took some time and involved several market studies in California (Laguna Beach). The study pointed to the affluent lifestyles of many Americans.

It included 60 designers, 2,300 technicians, 220 service workers and 1,400 engineers. The Japanese government has imposed some export restrictions on the US market.

So it seemed quite profitable for Japanese automakers to export their expensive vehicles to the United States. Lexus has become Toyota’s new luxury brand, with a strong focus on the international market. A huge success has been the new Lexus dealerships in the United States, with a network of 81.

At the 1989 International Auto Show in North America, the brand presented the Lexus LS 400. This event was held in Detroit, and the debut Lexus model was found to have a 4.0-liter V8 (gasoline) engine and rear-wheel Drive.

Most of the car enthusiasts and even the critics were amazed by the car’s performance, quality, comfort features and aerodynamics, which rocked the luxury sedan market. There were more debuts of this car brand, and in 2019 the ten millionth car was sold.
