The end of the year is upon us, believe it or not. This means that manufacturers are preparing their products for 2023 and aim to get them to retailers within months. We’ve already seen several new debuts for next year – heck, we’ve even driven some of them. But there’s a lot more to come before January rolls around. These are just a few.
With the introduction of the Tonale, Alfa Romeo expanded its crossover range by one. Positioned below the larger Stelvio, the Tonale is the brand’s first plug-in hybrid, featuring a turbocharged 1.3-liter inline-four with a battery. The total output is 272 horsepower and the electric range is 30 miles. The new Tonale goes on sale later this year and should start around $30,000.
2023 BMW 7 Series / i7
BMW’s largest and most luxurious sedan is all-new for the 2023 model year. The new 7 Series features a bold design, luxurious interior and now two powertrain options: gas or electric. Gas-powered models are available with six-cylinder and eight-cylinder models, while the new BMW i7 uses a 101.7 kilowatt-hour battery. Both the petrol 7 series and the i7 produce up to 536 horsepower.
BMW XM from 2023
BMW introduced the XM concept last year with wild styling and a plug-in hybrid powertrain with up to 750 horsepower. This concept is now becoming a reality. The launch version has 644 hp and 650 lb-ft, while a 750 hp version is expected in late 2023. No word on pricing.
2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06
The highly anticipated C8 Z06 will hit the road later this year, making 670 horsepower and 460 lb-ft thanks to a new 5.5-liter V8. This super coupé spins at 8,600 rpm and reaches 100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds. The new Z06 starts at $106,395, but orders for the 2023 model have already ended.
2023 Dodge Hornet
Built on the Alfa Romeo Tonale platform, the Dodge Hornet has a standard 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a plug-in hybrid option that produces up to 285 horsepower and a 6.1-second 0-60 sprint? The new Hornet will go on sale later this year and should start around $30,000.
A full-blooded Ferrari from 2023
Ferrari’s first SUV is here. The Purosangue is powered by a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine that gives it 715 horsepower and 528 foot-pounds of torque, the most horsepower for a naturally aspirated Ferrari product to date. The new Ferrari Purosangue will go on sale later this year and will start at around $400,000.
2023 Honda CR-V
The brand’s beloved compact sedan gets a facelift for 2023 with major exterior updates, a new Civic-inspired cabin and engine option updates.
2023 Honda HR-V
Honda’s HR-V crossover was introduced in the U.S. in 2016. But for the 2023 model year, the subcompact gets a major facelift that now includes a sharper exterior and a new 158-hp, 138-horsepower engine. lbs to 2.0 liters. Contain. This small crossover is priced at $24,895.
Hyundai Ioniq 6 from 2024
While it’s not technically a 2023 model year vehicle, we expect the Ioniq 6 electric sedan to go on sale outside the US later this year before it comes to America. With your choice of 53.0 or 77.4 kilowatt-hour batteries and up to 320 horsepower available in the twin-motor model, the Ioniq 6 should start around $40,000.
2023 Kia Niro
The Kia Niro has undergone a major facelift for 2023. This update includes a new exterior, a modern interior, and a continuation of the PHEV and full EV models. However, the base Niro gets the same 1.6-liter hybrid setup as last year, making 139 horsepower. The hybrid is expected to go on sale in the US in a few months.
2023 Lexus RZ
Lexus is electrifying its lineup, and the brand’s first fully electric car is the RZ crossover, a battery-powered sibling to the RX. The RZ is expected to run on the same e-TNGA platform as the Toyota BZ4X and Subaru Solterra, but likely with a larger battery and range.
2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV
Mercedes-Benz will introduce the EQS SUV later this year, and the smallest EQE SUV will be added to the lineup. The base model offers 288 hp, while the AMG version can produce up to 671 hp with top performance.
2023 North Star 3
Polestar is expanding its range by one or three. The new Polestar 3 is the brand’s first electric crossover, joining the existing Polestar 2 sedan. The Polestar 3 crossover is expected to borrow elements from the 2 sedan, including both single and twin engine layouts. But we won’t know all the details until the electric car goes on sale later this year.
Crown Toyota 2023
Not quite a sedan, not quite a crossover, the Crown is a unique addition to Toyota’s lineup for 2023. It has two hybrid powertrains: a 2.5-litre engine and a 2.4-litre turbo engine, with the most powerful version produces 340 hp. . . The new Crown will go on sale later this year, but Toyota has not provided pricing details.
Toyota GR Corolla from 2023
While we won’t be getting the GR Yaris in the States, Toyota is quenching our appetite for hot sedans with the new GR Corolla. The GR Corolla would use the same turbocharged 1.6-liter three-cylinder engine as the Yaris, and the GR Corolla could have nearly 270 horsepower and a manual transmission when it debuts later this year.
